"Miotto S.r.l. " is maybe the most known Company of Northern-East Italy by marine-mechanical operators, but also by keen on navigation and propulsion devices.

Founded in 1959 by Eng. Giovanni Miotto, it quickly grew up thanks to several patents and studies managed by the founder. Eng. Miotto ripened a deep knowledge in the field of oleodynamic, mechanical and electro-mechanical transmissions after several years of employment as General Manager of the Shipyard of A.C.N.I.L. Municipalized Company in Venice. The manufacture of oleodynamic and elastic couplings of alignment asserted both in industrial and marine fields.

During the years, a technological know-how has been developed, and it is now resumed in more than 5,000 drawings kept in the design department: axes' lines, cardan transmissions, marine rudders and propellers, have been installed in the most prestigious marine applications for passengers' transportation and recreation, enjoying general appreciation and recognition for the quality, reliability and originality of adopted solutions.

In the marine field, it does not exist a propulsive system that the Company has not faced and solved: screw propellers, paddle wheels and water-spout propellers have been wholly designed and manufactured by the founder and his staff. In the '80, the new products: bow-thrusters and azimuthal stern-thrusters both having an oleostatic transmission from 50 up to 800 CV (36 - 605 kW), have encountered a large acceptance by Italian and foreign Customers In the industrial field, a lot of machines for paper and food industry, but also highly-sophisticated applications, this obtained through the continuous brushing-up of personnel's knowledge and modernization of used equipment.
